One-time framing is a simple, mechanical way to answer whether the trend is still intact. On a reference timeframe (30-minute bars are the classic), an uptrend is one-time framing higher while every new bar's low holds above the prior bar's low; a downtrend mirrors it with lower highs. As long as the sequence is unbroken, the auction is directional — one-sided initiative activity — and fading it is the get-run-over trade; pullback continuations are the play. The first bar that takes out the prior bar's extreme breaks the framing and is the earliest structural evidence of transition: expect balance to form, or a rotation back toward value. It pairs naturally with acceptance reads — broken framing plus re-entry into the bands is the skeleton of a Return-to-Value.
