Every major intraday reversal tends to leave a fingerprint, and it is usually one candle. The exhaustion candle is a volume climax: abnormally large volume, a failed push beyond a level, and a violent wick as the last aggressive participants capitulate. It often prints on news releases and marks either a temporary stall or a significant turn. The system's workflow treats it as an event anchor: the moment one prints, drop an anchored VWAP on that candle and read control from it — price holding below the event VWAP keeps sellers in charge, while reclaiming it hands control back to buyers. Exhaustion prints power the cleanest fades and Return-to-Value entries, because the wick is excess made visible and the climax volume shows the fuel tank emptying.
